Company:
Courier Systems (www.courier-systems.co.uk) is a rapidly expanding dynamic Courier Logistics Company based in London with operations throughout the UK. It is currently run by two directors, and eight managers across 2 sites who are seeking to bring additional management into the organisation. A CSR Manager is now required to work along side the Environmental Manager to develop and maintain this position within the company with a sustainable and commercial approach.
Functions:
The role is varied in nature and cuts across all areas of CSR. The ability to multi-task is required to maintain all these aspects within the company. As with CSR itself, the role will continuously evolve, and it is within the role's requirements to maintain its commercial validity. Functions:
• Learn the Environmental, H&S and CSR policies and procedures of the business.
• Develop these further throughout the company in a sustainable manner and make them commercially attractive to our clients and potential clients.
• Assist in Carbon Management of fleet: Carbon footprinting, offsetting procedures, emissions reductions strategies
• Help develop the efficiency of the business by improving existing processes and developing new markets.
• Ensure maintenance of industry and legal best practice across all CSR areas
• Manage internal and external communications relating to CSR.
• Research, presentation & ongoing updates of commercially viable CSR projects to Managing Directors and senior managers.
• Implementation of ISO 9001 & 14001 and other standards
Requirements:
• The role requires a good understanding of business principles and a minimum of two years professional experience (preferably one year in CSR/environmental initiatives and another year in commercial activities, or any combination of both)
• Candidates should have good IT skills (particularly Excel) have excellent command of the English Language and be legally allowed to work in the UK.
• Capacity to communicate in writing and verbally with external/internal staff at all levels of organisations is needed.
• Candidates preferably have a master's degree related to environment/development/CSR/business from a top university.
• Knowledge of the Carbon Neutral Market and other initiatives that the company is involved in (e.g. FORS, Green500, LowCVp) will be a highly considered asset.
• Some experience in the logistics industry will be an advantage.

Competitive salary for an environmental manager in a mid size company (25-30k p.a. based on experience). Benefits will be review after probation period of 3 months.
