Foreword from Professor Moon
Business responsibility continues to be a moving target. Its substance has reflected successive and recurrent waves of issues and orientations. From an American management and academic concept, corporate responsibility acquired European dimensions. Now it has permeated and re-kindled Asian business responsibility. These changes in context don’t just bring new frontiers. They are also re-shaping the agendas and solutions of responsible business in its heartlands and internationally. In so doing, givens are undermined, possibilities expanded and challenges multiplied. The Eastern Turn in responsible enterprise is not an option. It is part and parcel of the imminent mainstream business responsibility. But this is not just a cosy win-win fusion. The Eastern Turn also brings new normative, conceptual and operational challenges. This is a most timely contribution.
